Can include all interior finishes and styles for doors, windows, door hardware, door & window trim, crown & baseboard molding, flooring [hardwood, tile, vinyl, carpet], kitchen/bathroom/laundry/mudroom cabinets, cabinet hardware, countertops, sinks & faucets, appliances, plumbing fixtures/faucets, fireplace & built-in designs, Kitchen & Pantry layout/designs, light fixture selections, wall/trim/ceiling paint colors – based on the client’s lifestyle, ideas, dreams, needs, and budget.

Interior Space Planning & Furniture Layouts

Define interior spatial areas and circulation patterns and develop plans and layouts for furniture placement to-scale. Considers numerous design parameters, including client’s project goals and priorities, space allocation criteria, circulation and work flow.

Graphics

Computer software used to create two- and three-dimensional (2D or 3D) graphical representations of room designs [e.g., kitchens, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, furnishings]. Can display the following formats: floor plans, elevations, isometric projection, and perspectives.

Project Management & Implementation

Includes initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and wrap-up of projects. The project focus is shaped by goals/scope, resources, cost, schedules, quality, communications, time, and procurement.

Paint Colors & Decorative Finishes

For walls, trims, ceilings. Takes into consideration saturation (how intense or concentrated a color is), the value (how light or dark a color is), the tint (a color made lighter by adding white), the shade (a color made darker by adding black), the finish (iridescence, pearl, flat, satin, glossy, semi-gloss), manufacturer paint base; and how color is affected by different types of light, the color of flooring, and adjacent room colors; feeling & mood; room use, etc.

Furniture Selection & Specification

Considerations include how the furniture will be used, it’s structure, material, color, style, and scale for the space.

Flooring Selections

Can include hardwood, laminate, LVT, carpet, tile, stone,area rugs, etc. Styles, colors, textures, and sizes based on client’s lifestyle, budget, and room requirements.

Light Fixture Selection & Specification

Includes task, ambient, and accent lighting.

Window Treatments, Bedding, & Upholstery Design

Window treatments for privacy, light control, insulating factors, and aesthetic beauty. Includes design, fabrication, and installation for proper proportion, projection, and placement.

Kitchen & Bath Design and Product Specification

Includes layout / designs of the space, cabinetry style/color/finish, cabinetry hardware style & finish, counter-top material & color, back-splash tile style & color, sinks & faucet style/color/finish, light fixtures, wall/trim/ceiling paint colors.

Fireplace Built-ins Design

Includes appropriately proportioned fireplace mantles, surrounds, and built-ins based on client desired style, finishes, and use.

Home Theater Design

Can include specialized theater seating, projection/screen or TV equipment, themed décor, lighting, carpeting, accessories, light control.

Bar Design

Includes layout/design, cabinetry style/colors/finish, appliances, sink & faucet, counter-tops, back-splash, bar stools, etc.

Artwork Specifications, Accessories & Placement

Designers think of artwork and accessories as the jewelry that completes a room. Some clients want to select their own artwork; others like the designer to make preliminary selections. Some lower cost accessories, expertly selected, can be judiciously interspersed among more valued treasurers.

Styling Services

Styling can be thought of as “staging”, except when you don’t plan to sell your home. It is the art of pulling it all together, using what is currently owned and perhaps a few additional accessory purchases.
